Ticked about birding

In an attempt to cross more birds off our list we went for a nature walk last week. I don't know if it was the warm winter or what, but every time we've gone into the woods Ansley has come home with a tick. She has had more ticks this spring than Jon and I have had in our lifetime. Our little walk was cut short because this particular trail seemed to be infested. We didn't see a single bird. We did however see a gopher tortoise. Ansley was psyched. She talked for the next hour about how it was looking for food and eating the grass.

Some birds from our yard recently:

Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Mississippi Kite (new to our list)

She does not get the ability to sleep like this from me.
