Getting ready to go on a morning walk. Logan was smiling at Ansley, but I got the camera too late.

Ansley has started calling Blue Highway Pizza, Blue-HOO Highway. I think maybe she's combining the actual name with her book "What Shall We Do with the Boo Hoo Baby".
Here she is lounging with Aunt Emily's sun glasses on while we waited for a table.

I tried taking pictures of Ansley at the 2-3 year old gym class we went to last week. The lighting wasn't very good and she wouldn't stop moving so all the shots came out blurry. We thought it was going to be more dance oriented and for the first 10 minutes she kept saying, "I want to dance!" Unfortunately, the class was only a one time thing because Ans had a lot of fun.

This week Logan began stretching out his night time feedings. Monday was a 7 (!), Tuesday 5, Wednesday 5 and last night 6. Another 7 would be great, although I'm sure it will be a while before that happens again. Babywise says around 8 weeks they should be sleeping thorough the night, which means one almost 8 hour stretch. The good news is it looks like that's the way he's headed. Logan now smiles in response to your smiles. He's making lots of noises and tries talking to me everyday during diaper changes. However, he still seems to get fussy not too long after eating and the only thing that soothes him is the swing. I thought it was gas, but am wondering again if maybe it really is some mild case of reflux. He goes in for his 2 month check-up in a week, so I'll ask about it then. Another theory I have is that he just gets overstimulated by the noise of the TV, Ansley, Ansley's toys, me talking to Ansley and whatever else is going on. It never seems to happen in the middle of the night. When Ans was born our house was quiet and calm. I rarely had the TV on in the background. I think the swing allows him to tune out and have the "quiet awake" time babies need. I need to be more mindful of the TV. It's hard though because during nursing it helps distract Ansley and gives me something to do. I guess I should come up with something better. Another possible cause of Logan's discomfort is that he hasn't pooped since Monday night (I'm sure everyone really wants to know that). So far, he's happiest while getting a bath (he LOVES the bath and never cries during), sitting in his swing, eating, on the changing table with a fresh diaper on, up over your shoulder being walked around or looking at the fridge (I think the colorful magnets contrast well on the black background).

Ansley's caterpillar from Nana finally turned into butterfly Monday. She was so excited! We let it go in the backyard once Jon got home. Earlier in the day I had my first MOPS meeting. I told Ans on Sunday that she'd be going to play with some kids, eat a snack and play with toys without mommy, but that I'd come back soon to get her. Her response was, of course, "So cited!" I thought, we'll see how excited you are when mommy leaves. The next morning she walked into the nursery with her backpack on, took one look at all the fabulous toys (they really do have the best kids' rooms) and could have cared less where I went. I was so glad. The workers said she was really good and gave them lots of hugs. It eases my mind about starting pre-school next year. Ansley is such an independent little thing. I don't know where she came from. Friday night I took the kiddies downtown to this festival thing they've started doing on UF home game weekends. There is a big stage with live music and a grassy patch down below where little kids like to run around shoeless. Ansley saw what was going on and insisted that she wanted to "go dance" with her shoes off. I had Logan in the giant travel system stroller (Jon was still at swim practice) and couldn't wheel it out there, so I told her she could go and I'd watch. Without hesitation she ran right into the middle of all that commotion and started moving to the music. It makes me so happy that she is comfortable just doing her thing :)

In the last week Logan has perked up a bit. He's become a lot more vocal and loves looking at our faces. He gets excited when you read books and has started enjoying the playmat for short periods of time. He really likes tummy time (I think it' s because it helps his gas/tummy pains though). He also LOVES bath time. It's very silly. He just looks around and seems so relaxed. He's started doing eat, wake, sleep better during the day. However, he still hasn't started stretching out his night time feedings at all. He did one 5 hour break last Saturday night, but that was it. It's been mostly a 2.5-3 and 3-4. I'm hoping he starts going longer soon. He's such a sweet little baby and I'm excited to see his personality coming out more and more every day.
I'm not sure why this video is so shaky... sorry.

Ansley played at the splash pad for a while during Jon's swim meet this week. We had it all to ourselves and she thought it was super fun.
Kissing the frog fountain.
I think she thought this was like the telescope at the library playground.
Finally figured out it's actually a wheel :)
Logan slept through all the fun.
