Sunday

Here are a few pictures from last Sunday...

Ansley, right after brushing her teeth.

Aunt Beth and Uncle Dave came up with Jon's parents to meet Logan for the first time.

Jon and I ran some errands after nap time and finished the day with dinner at Ansley's favorite restaurant... McAlister's. She loves getting to drink milk out of a "big girl" cup.

I've been trying to get a good picture of Ansley's eyes recently. They seem more yellow/green than blue now.

3 weeks old

Logan had his weight check yesterday and guess what... He's 8 lbs 1 oz! That's 6 ounces in 7 days! So much better than expected and it's above his birth weight. I was shocked since Tuesday he still only weighed 7.12. This week I started taking fenugreek, pumped after feedings 1-2 times a day, did a "power pump" once a day and gave him breast milk by bottle when he still seemed hungry after nursing. It's been a lot of work. I'm not sure I can sustain doing all of these things long term. I want to slap myself now for saying how much easier it is this time only a few days after coming home from the hospital :) At this point it seems the worst case scenario is I'd have to give him an ounce or two of formula after nursing if he was still hungry and I didn't have any stored milk left. Hopefully my body will catch up or Logan will become a more proficient nurser soon (I think he's getting better). I'm just glad the little guy finally had a growth spurt!

Sfoophie

I unloaded the dishwasher this morning and Ansley saw her smoothie cup. Guess what she decided she wanted for breakfast. We've been having some delicious (delicious is one of Ansley's new words) mango smoothies this week thanks to Pop and Gramarie. They brought up a few from their tree at home last weekend. Growing up in south Florida, we always had mangos, avocados, star fruit and oranges from the trees in our yard. It kills me now to have to pay for them at the store because they're so expensive! Unfortunately both of the avocado trees I tried planting here couldn't make it through the winter. I guess Ansley and Logan will just have to have childhood memories of eating more cold hearty foods from our yard... that and blueberry picking :)

Multipurpose chair...

Ansley's old swing chair has become a new favorite spot for both her and Logan.

What I should have recorded was Ansley saying the word "smoothie". It sounds something like "sfoophie". I can't believe I didn't get it on camera. Instead you can hear her tell me the smoothie is all done and empty. She also says "He's a cute... He's a cute buddy" and "He look at you". She says those two phrases about 20 times a day :)

Girly girl or Tom boy

Here's Ansley looking very cute before dinner last night.

Here's what Ansley had in her pocket during that picture...

She loves carrying her little green frog around in her pocket whenever we go out. I love this little girl! She is so silly :)

Ansley's old swing chair that converts to a toddler rocker. It's been packed away for months. We got it out for some friends to borrow and of course the moment she saw it she wanted to watch videos while sitting there.

I weighed Logan in the lactation office at the hospital yesterday. He may have gained an ounce since Friday, but it's hard to know for sure. I was really hoping for a bigger jump on the scale. At least he still seems to be a happy boy. We'll have to see what the doctor says later this week.

Some snuggle time with daddy last night.

Is that almost a smile? :)

Weekend Fun

Saturday Logan met the last of his grandparents, Pop and Gramarie, along with his Aunt Briana. He was very sleepy (not surprising!), snoozing through both lunch and bat watching at the UF bat houses. Ansley, however, was very excited about eating pizza and SUPER excited about seeing the bats!

Notice Allie in the picture. I guess she's been a little attention deprived recently :)

Jon tried to take a picture of the bats with his phone, but it was too dark. All those fuzzy black flecks in the sky are bats.

2 Weeks Old

Logan turned 2 weeks old Thursday. Friday at his checkup he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz (29th) and was 21.25 inches (89th). Unfortunately he should be back to his birth weight by now (8 lbs), so we go in next week again to see where he is. No major concerns about it, he's eating often and well, having more than enough wet/dirty diapers and has stretches of alert time during the day. It may just mean we'll have to supplement him a little. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
