Aubrey, Squirrel & Bless You

Three of my new favorite words to hear Ansley say...

At my doctor's appointment on Monday a woman in the waiting room sneezed and Ansley said "Bless you!" :)

Ansley and Baby

Ansley has been spending a lot of time carrying around and taking care of her baby doll.

She loves reading to her...

... and pushing around the stroller (making sure the shade is down so the sun doesn't get in her eyes).

It's good she's enjoying this because there will soon be a real baby around here for her to love! Meet Ansley's new little peanut sibling :)

9wks 1 day

I'm 12 weeks 1 day today and he or she should be arriving sometime in early August. The ultrasound pics aren't very good (and I was too lazy to actually scan and just took a picture), but I thought I'd post them anyway. I have so many because our little one has eluded the heart beat Doppler at all of my appointments. The doctor has resorted to pulling out the ultrasound machine every time to make sure the bean looks good.

9wks 5 days

I've been a lot more nauseous this time around which has been a bummer and a big reason why I was so bad about posting, taking pictures, etc. the last month or so. Things have started getting better this week and I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel as the second trimester approaches. Another positive, they made me do an early sugar test (I had gestational diabetes with Ans) and I passed! I'll have to do it again at 24 weeks, but at least don't have to start carb counting this early... although, that diet really did help me feel good during my 3rd trimester. As some of you may also remember, I had a little blood pressure issue after Ans was born so they have been monitoring that closely too. There's a slight risk it could go up during the actual pregnancy this time, and there's a chance it might not happen at all. I have no risk factors for high blood pressure so they can't tell me to stop smoking or lose weight in order to decrease my odds. We just have to wait and see. Luckily my BP was 109/68 today (and has been below 120/80 for all of my visits). Speaking of losing weight, I have not, even with the nauseousness I never really throw up and have gained about 2lbs at this point. So far so good!

Allie Hugs

Ansley man handled Allie into accepting her affections the other night. It was one of the first times Allie has actually gone along with it. Normally, Allie runs to the far side of the room as soon as she sees Ans coming. I think she's finally warming up to her little sister :)

18 months

Ansley turned 18 months old yesterday. We decided to finally turn her car seat around and it was a big hit. She looked around taking in all the new things to see and kept saying hi to Jon and me.
This morning she had her 18 month check-up. The last two appointments have been pretty rough with her screaming and writhing the whole time. The doctor told me that the 18mo might be another bad one, but after that they'd get better. Thank goodness she got over the stranger danger a little early (or maybe it was all the travel and large group gatherings over the holidays) because she was back to the happy little girl I know. No crying during height and weight check. No crying during lung and heart sounds. No crying during ear checks... although she did give a pretty intense grumpy face. Her current stats are:

weight: 24lbs 5oz (55th)
height: 33in (80th)

I realized today that they never tell me her head measurements. I think it's in the mid range because it doesn't seem to be bigger than average (the lack of hair has something to do with that too though!). I guess if it was abnormal one way or the other they'd point it out. Maybe I'll measure it myself after her nap :)

Chickens... Yeehaw!

While Jon spent the weekend with the boys, his family and I spent Saturday morning collecting our own farm fresh eggs.

Afterwards, I met my mom at Yeehaw Junction for some lunch. It's the halfway point between West Palm and Orlando. The only sit down restaurant was the Desert Inn Restaurant and Bar. I was a little scared at first, but it turned out to be a fun place :)

Norley Family Picture 2010

For the last three years we've done a family picture with my dad sometime during winter break. It was so cold this year. When I look back at 2008 & 2009 we were wearing shorts and t-shirts!

Christmas in Orlando

While in Orlando, one of Ansley favorite activities was to carry around this little Christmas basket filled with Hersey's Kisses. She had NO idea that those tiny silver packages contained chocolate and thank goodness for that. The advent calendar Granny sent to our house taught her the word chocolate (choc-choo) and she now asks for it from time to time.

Christmas Day

I wasn't sure how opening presents was going to go Christmas morning with Ansley. At her first birthday, she wasn't very interested. She was a lot more into it than I expected though. Every time a present was opened (either hers or someone else) she'd exclaim, "Wooow". It was very cute.

With her new baby doll. Unfortunately Ansley had a little diaper leak that required changing out of her cute Christmas Pjs before presents. So sad!

I tried to get a good picture of her with the new backpack, but she loved it so much she wouldn't stand still. "Ready do doh!" as Ans would say :)

Daddy, Uncle Matt and a little girl watching Baby Neptune. Notice her backpack is still on.

Over the break, Ansley took her first trip to SeaWorld. She is currently obsessed with all aquatic animals, thanks to multiple viewings of Baby Neptune. Dolphins, octopuses, whales, turtles and poosh (fish) are a few of her favorites. Also, did you know Octopuses, Octopi and Octopodes are all acceptable plural forms of octopus... they are, I looked it up to write this post. I didn't do the best job of taking pictures, but did get a good one of Jon and his parents going down Journey to Atlantis.

(They're the three in the back)

Ansley's dream! A giant friendly octopus. Jon ended up buying her a smaller more realistic looking one at the gift shop. She hugged and patted it the whole way home!

She really enjoyed this shark pool outside of one of the restaurants. You never can tell what a little kid is actually going to get excited about. Things like the penguin house, I thought she'd love, but all she could focus on was the floor moving without us walking. Jon had to keep stepping in place for her to actually look at the exhibit :)
