I can't believe it's been a year since you came into our lives. Looking back at those newborn pictures from the hospital, with your skinny skinny frog legs, it seems so long ago. But, then there are times when I'm unable to remember what life was like without you. You have been the most easy going, happy and amazing child any parent could ever ask for. You're such a great sleeper, a trait I am certain (and thankful) that you inherited from your father. Even with all of your smiles and good moods, you're starting to show some signs of a determined little personality. Once you get your mind set on something it's hard to change. You're daddy likes to say you inherited this one from me :o) You're not walking yet, but you will be soon. You started saying Ah-yee (Allie) a few days ago and absolutely love that dog. I'm sorry the feeling is not mutual right now, that will change once you're big enough to hand her your food or throw a ball. You've also seemed to stop saying Ma-Ma unless crying. When I ask you to say Ma-Ma you say Da-Da and think it's funny. You've become really good at repeating common words like "bye-bye", "doggie", "thank you", and "kitty", although your first official word was "button". You have also recently mastered the "f" sound (probably helped by the fact that your top teeth are coming in). You LOVE flowers and point at them with intensity while saying "Ffff-Ffff-Ffff". We think you are going to really like music. Already, you try to sing and since standing have begun "dancing". Your daddy and I love you so much and are excited to see your little personality emerge even more. Happy birthday baby girl!

Ansley turned one on Saturday! We had a little party for her at Nana & Grandpa's that was a lot of fun. This little girl broke many of my expectations for the day, the first being that there was no way she would keep her crown on. She seemed to enjoy wearing it!
Secondly, I thought she would absolutely LOVE her cupcake since she hasn't really had any sugar. Wrong! Ansley wouldn't touch the thing. She took a small bite when I brought it up to her mouth, but cried when I tried to give her more. She did however love having a room full of people singing her "happy birthday".
Kennon and Noah know how to eat a cupcake :o)
Ansley got a lot of cute gifts, but her most favorite were the cards. Look at how she's inspecting it with her little finger. So Silly!
It was such a fun day! From the pink to the flowers, it was perfect for this little one year old.

Ansley had her first swollen lip a few days ago after slipping face first onto the tile while crawling. We think it will look all better before her birthday. The good thing about these pictures is you can see all six of her teeth.

Ansley took her first trip to the Pittsburgh zoo during our PA stay. The first thing we saw were the elephants. They were splashing and playing in the water!
Look how close this guy got!
We really wanted to get Ansley a toy to commemorate the trip. Nana and I decided to give her the choice between a jumbo 24 inch stuffed elephant and a small polar bear. She, instantly, enthusiastically and undoubtedly chose the polar bear :o)
