Under the weather

Ansley started feeling sick towards the end of the weekend. I hope it doesn't last long. It was nice that Jon had an extra day off so she could snuggle with her daddy.

Farmers Markets and Bookstores

Every time I go to the farmers market on Saturday, I kick myself for having bought so much produce at Publix earlier in the week.

I took Ansley to the bookstore Friday and let her play in the kids area. I think she liked it.

Baby kiss and friends we'll miss :(

I wish I had grabbed the camera faster because Carver walked up to Ansley without us prompting and "kissed" her (put his forehead against hers). Then, she smiled and grabbed for his face with her mouth open just like she does when she "kisses" me. They love each other! This video is the third time it happened. Carver's headbutt is his attempt at kissing Ansley and you can see her chasing him with her mouth open. Then, he got distracted by the camera. Oh, and yes we are sitting in an empty room with cardboard boxes because we were helping the Stonerooks move. That's not how we live :o)

Sadly, this morning, Ethan, Valerie and Carver all packed up and rode off to start their new journey in North Carolina. We will miss them SO much. A few Wednesdays ago we went to dollar night at the UF baseball stadium. I stole these pictures from Val's Facebook. I'll try to pretend they haven't left...

New stuff

Jon showed Ansley how to clap a few days ago and yesterday she started doing it on her own. Today she was clapping in the car and when I mimicked her while saying, "Yeeaaay!", she got the biggest grin.

Ansley also got a new tooth early in the week. I can't believe I didn't mention that already. It's on her bottom right. Still no top teeth. Also, I finished my first attempt at making little girl clothes.

We've been getting some tomatoes from the garden, although I think the squirrels are beginning to eat them. I've gone out a few times to pick ones that weren't quite ripe and they're gone! Then I noticed a big green one half eaten by the fence, grrr...

I could list for hours the new things I love and learn about this little girl everyday. Here's one, Ansley has started going to the bookshelf during her morning play, choosing a book and then "reading" it. The funny thing is, she only seems to choose books from her two shelves. Like she knows which ones are for her :o)

No peeking

Up on her knees waiting for someone to come through the door :)

Independent Play

Usually, the mornings are when Ansley has some independent play time. This gives me a chance to clean up her meal, eat breakfast myself and get ready for the day. It also results in the living room looking something like this:

Immediately after being put on her blanket, Ansley crawls to the bookshelf and dumps her green basket of toys. Then, finds one (this day it was the Alberta gator) and plays with that (turns it around and around while alternately laughing and chewing on) for a bit. Once bored, she usually crawls to the other side of the blanket for some different toys (the books) and finds entertainment in those for another stretch of time. The other funny thing about this is recently while crawling, she makes noises by sucking air in and out, or sometimes just clicking her tongue. This works against her when trying to sneak up on Allie.

Today was a little different though because Ansley followed me into the kitchen while I washing out her bottle and found daddy's Florida Field guide. Apparently it was fascinating :o)

Book Worm

Ansley's started becoming interested in what's on the coffee table and couldn't resist the lure of books...

She also has begun mimicking my chewing motion while I'm eating. I look over and see her little closed mouth munch munch munching :o)

10 Months Old

10 months old! Here are some details about the last 30 days:

* Still only has 2 teeth
* Crawling!
* Beginning to pull up onto her knees

* Gets to sitting position on her own
* Loves going for walks in the stroller
* Screams REALLY loud when excited

* Her personality is showing more and more everyday
* When touching something for the first time, uses pointer finger only
* She loves sitting in the big girl high chair now at restaurants

* Gets super excited everyday when Jon walks in the door from work
* Holds arms out away from her sides when she wants to be picked up
* Sleeps jammed up in the corner of the crib

Can you tell where her hand was during the 2 hour nap? She was a little upset about us snapping pictures instead of getting her out of the crib.

Ansley is officially a crawler, yay!

This morning we found her sitting upright in the crib playing with her caterpillar. Before bed, we made sure to lower the mattress. It's only a matter of time now before she starts pulling up on the sides.

Jon had his extra credit field trip to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens today. Ansley really liked being outside and looking at all of the kids.

Fun with Kennon

I watched Kennon today. Ansley spent most of the time just watching him play with his cars. She was SOO excited when I woke her up in the morning to see him standing next to me. Before we went in to get her, I asked Kennon if he wanted to go wake up the baby. He said "baby? baby?" all the way down the hall. It was very cute.

Doodle Bug

This little sweet thing has figured out how to go from all fours to sitting and even pulled up onto her knees at the TV stand today. She also has a constant runny nose... maybe a new tooth is coming soon.

Ansley's been taking baby "steps" with her knees instead of dragging her lower half when moving forward. No more zombie crawl :o)

Forward Motion

I'm not sure this counts as crawling, but at least she's graduated from just scooting backwards.

First Mommy's Day

A fun trip to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens on my first mother's day :o)

Had to put the pacifier in to keep her from eating the grass.

Smiling at daddy.

Mill Creek

If you live in Gainesville (especially if you have kids) and have never been to Mill Creek retirement home for horses, you're missing out. We went yesterday and it was SO much fun and free. Just make sure to bring lots of carrots! Even Ansley had fun looking at the horses.
