Sort of Standing

It seems strange to me that Ansley is just as close to almost standing as she is to crawling. Perhaps this is because she's figured out that instead of crawling to a toy she can simply pull the blanket underneath towards her, thus bringing the desired object within reach. Touche little girl :o)

Look what I found...

This is what Allie found on our back porch this morning...

It was pretty long!

And, this is what I found after emptying out the laundry basket this afternoon...

This last picture is blurry, but shows the tongue twisting Ansley always does. You may remember trying this in high school science because it's a genetic trait. I can't do it, but Jon can.

House Bunny

The Easter Bunny came early to our house this year... with white plastic eggs and all :o)

Buddha Belly

Friday night we ate with the Brown's. It was the first time Ansley has been in a high chair with another baby at a restaurant. We sat them next to each other and the little girl loved it. Any time Kennon bent over or came closer she'd reach out to touch him. She kept smiling and starring.

Kennon decided he didn't want to be at our table anymore :o)

Pop Pop and the Gators

My dad came up last weekend and we decided to go to a UF baseball game. I put a bow on Ansy because she kinda liked like a boy in her Gator gear :o) She enjoyed playing with Pop Pop on the floor, but wasn't too sure about that beard.

Scooting

We have retired Ansley's beloved play mat in exchange for "blanket time". There are 3 reasons for this: 1. She has more room to roll, scoot and wiggle around like a little crazy lady 2. She isn't tempted to lay on her back the whole time (making her bald inverted pony tail worse) and instead has to reach for toys sprinkled around the blanket 3. Jon and I were beginning to feel claustrophobic with all of the baby gear accumulating in our living room. It seems to have been a win, win, win, for everyone :o)

Friday, while I was getting dressed, I left Ansley in the middle of her blanket (tummy on the rainbow). I heard her whining and came back out to find this:

She'd scooted the bottom half of her body under the coffee table and was stuck :o) The days of leaving her unattended for a few minutes on the floor are ending...

She really is starting to move around a lot. Yesterday during her two floor times she not only rolled and wiggled off the blanket, she moved all the way to the edge of our area rug! We also think she may be learning to wave.

New Changing Pad

A new changing pad may not be very exciting to anyone else, but Ansley thought it was great. I made it over the weekend, finally breaking in my sewing machine.

8 Months

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Ansley is 8 months old :o) She is full of energy and really becoming a squirmy little thing. She loves to laugh, squeal and babble. Her favorite sounds to make are "baba", "da", blowing raspberries and panting... she is sort of a mouth breather :o)

No crawling yet, although she's starting to try. It's neat to see her begin to mimic the things we do with our hands or sounds we make. Just the other day after watching Jon and I clap for her, she tried to do it too. It was very cute.

She is such a happy little girl (and a drool monster).

Basket Baby

Ansley really enjoyed playing in the laundry basket Saturday night. She was entertained for a good 30 minutes. Maybe this means she will one day like helping mommy do laundry :o)

Allie, however, was not amused.
