Happy Halloween

We stayed in to watch the Florida Georgia game and pass out Halloween candy. I dressed Ansley up even thought we didn't go out. She was acting like a little crazy lady. You'd of thought we gave her a bag full of sweets. I guess she's starting to feel better :o)

Doesn't it look like she's posing on purpose? Hand behind the head...pouty face...now take my picture!

Waiting for trick-or-treaters.

15 Weeks Old

Ansley has become very good at watching things. She's found Allie, will follow you around with her eyes and has begun to notice even more things around the house.

She was all smiles during bath time tonight. I think I'm going to try laying her in the tub again now that she seems to be feeling a little better.

Her little feet are now ready for the cold...

...and she still loves her caterpillar :o) Jon thinks she waved to him today when he left for swim practice, but don't tell him it's probably just a coincidence.

Is that my dog?

Ansley and Allie made friends today. Allie came over a sat next to Ansley on the floor. She licked her face and hands a few times. Ansley just kept staring at her new found pet. I don't think she's really noticed her before...not even when I took the pictures of them snuggling a few months ago. This was the first time Ansley was genuinely interested in the big black dog in the room.

I also rolled Ansley onto her tummy with her little arms under her chest and she actually tolerated it...Yeay! As you can tell from her shirtless pictures, I gave up on changing her onesie this afternoon. She was a spit-up machine!

The side placement

The little girl still has a cough. It was so dreary out today which didn't help.

This is my new strategy for getting her to roll over...the side placement. It didn't work either. She just laid there, content to eat her hands and stare at her toys :o)

Poor little girl...

Ansley had fun yesterday with Nanna and Grandpa, but started getting a cough. I took her to the doctor today and she has a little cold. I was hoping we would make it to her 4 month appointment without having to go in, but I guess this is germ season. She weighed 12lbs 5oz. I could tell she wasn't feeling well this afternoon because she kept tugging on her shirt and trying to suck on her hands.

We gave Ansley a bath in the real tub tonight. I thought maybe the warm water would help to relax and decongest her. She didn't love it like I had hoped but seemed content to sit. Maybe she'll get more excited when she's feeling better.

On a happier note, last week Kathy brought by the quilt she made when Ansley was born. It is soo cute. I love it.

Fairy Princess

Ansley tried on her Halloween costume yesterday and oh my goodness does she look cute. She didn't seem to mind being dressed up and sitting. She just kept trying to eat her hand :o)

She can now grip and hold things, which is good because you can't be a fairy princess without a wand!

14 Weeks Old

Ansley has started trying to smile (at the fan, air vent, the projector in Jon's classroom or me) while eating, causing the entire contents of her mouth to drip down her face. She also seems to have found her ears and loves sucking on her hands.

These pictures were taken while she was playing with Jon before bed two nights ago.

I tried putting her in the front carrier this week facing outward and she seemed to really like it. Normally she falls asleep on walks, but in the carrier she stayed awake and looked around.

Guy Harvey

Yesterday was Kennon's 1st birthday party at play group. Ansley, Carver and Kennon all have Guy Harvey outfits so we wanted a picture before it gets too cold...an easier task in theory.

Kennon tried to hug and kiss Ansley, something she was not too happy about.

And Carver, after giving Ansley a pumpkin the day before, apparently thought he should take the next step by putting his hand on her leg. I think she was surprised :o)

Pumpkin Patch

Valerie and I took the babies to the pumpkin patch yesterday.

Carver tried to give Ansley a pumpkin.

They looked so cute.

Lift that head!

Ansley has decided she will not lift her head during tummy time. She can lift it, and will hold steady while being held upright, however, she just doesn't want to while laying flat on her belly. I've found the only way to get around this is to have her lay on Jon's chest or the Boppy pillow. For some reason she likes to lift and look in these situations.

I'm glad I bought some jackets in preparation for the cold before she was born. The weather seemed to go straight from summer to winter. She looks so cute all bundled up!

3 Months Old

Here is a list of 10 things I love about Ansley this month (in no particular order):

1. Her peach fuzz hair stands on end after being asleep making it look extra fuzzy.
2. She laughs unexpectedly.
3. She smiles...A LOT :o)
4. She falls asleep during tummy time, refusing to roll over, despite my best efforts to show her how.
5. Her little head follows the pictures on the wall as you walk down the hallway.
6. She wakes up in the mornings very happy.
7. Her blue eyes from daddy.
8. She tries to fit her whole hand in her mouth.
9. She loves to stretch when woken up.
10. She makes friends with inanimate objects.

Oh, and since it's homecoming weekend...GO GATORS!

13 Weeks Old

Ansley went on her first long car trip this week and was very good. She is such a smilely little thing. We've already had multiple offers from some of Jon's swimmers for babysitting. One girl tried to entice us by promising that Ansley "will have learned the entire periodic table by the time we get home".

Ansley has discovered the TV recently. It's hard to keep her little eyes from being fixated when it's on. I've had to start turning it off at times when she's awake so that she'll actually play.
