Feels like fall

Today it finally felt like fall. Ansely has a bunch of cute long sleeved onesies that I've been waiting to put her in so of course that's what I did. And I couldn't help but add a pair of matching socks (I tried putting pants on too, but she kind of looked like and old lady).

Of course, at play group she pooped and got some of the liquid on her cute outfit (and on my shirt, which was white, and unfortunately I don't carry around a change of clothes for myself. People probably thought it was coffee or spitup, but no, it was poo). Even though the liquid nature of her bm is what caused the seeping out, I was glad. The new organic formula has resulted in little poop marbles that make her cry when passing. I never thought in my life that I would be excited to see loose stool, but I guess that's what having a baby does to a person. I had to change Ansley's onesie and the pre-packed back-up was her Guy Harvey. She looked like and little tomboy with a touch of priss in her pink ballerina socks.

Nick or Noah?

So after seeing Jessie's post of Noah I'm finally posting pics of Nick and Noah together. It's crazy how similar they look. I know kids normally look like their parents, but it's like watching my little brother all over again :o)

Nick as a baby (Sorry, I was lazy and took a picture of a picture instead of scanning)...

Noah as a baby...

Noah on his 1st birthday...

Nick on his 2nd birthday...

Crazy huh? Also, what you don't know about the picture above is that Nick is about to dunk the pacifier in his hand right into the icing of the cake and then shove that bad boy in his mouth (I'm the one with the polo shirt and ponytail...not much has changed). I need to get some pictures of Jon and me as babies from our moms so I can do a compare with Ansley.

This weekend I finally painted the blank canvas above Ansley's crib. Nothing exciting but at least it's not empty anymore. And, I can't believe I didn't mention this before, but I tried tweaking Ansley's schedule a bit Friday and she has slept 7-9 hours every night since I made the change. Yea!

Weekend Fun

So, this weekend Ansley continued to proclaim her affection for her toucan...

We also discovered that she LOVES her swing. I thought it was a dud at first, but we brought it back out last week and it's wonderful. She'll sit in it for lengthy periods of time just looking around or entranced by the animals hanging above her.

She also grabbed onto my ponytail while I was changing her and gripped tight enough to hold on. She's growing so fast.

10 Weeks Old

This week Ansley has really started watching our faces when we talk to her. She seems to focus most on your mouth and I notice her little tongue trying to move (maybe mimic) while I'm talking. She especially likes the phrase "I love you" when you enunciate each word and will smile most of the time. I think it's because of the way your mouth looks with the "L" and the "OU", but maybe she's super smart and smiles because she understands what it means :o) The last few nights she has not been the lengthy sleeper she normally is. We're not really sure why, but I'm hoping it goes back soon!

She's such a big girl now!

Cloth Diapers

I finally put Ansley in her cloth diapers today. We tried them on yesterday and her little legs now fit snug all around. She probably could have started using them a few weeks ago, but I hadn't tried the fit in a while.

They make her little bottom bulkier than normal :o)

The boys

Here are what the boys were doing this afternoon...

And what Ansley was doing the whole time they played...

A girl and her toucan

Ansley has decided that the toucan on her play mat is by far her favorite. I remember Noah loving his ladybug in a similar way.

He was 1.5 months older in this picture then Ansley is now.

After Jon's swim meet today she wanted to play.

Wet Walk

I took A & A for a walk this morning and half way through it started to pour without warning. We had to run the whole way back. I was practically dragging Allie behind me while pushing the stroller. Thank goodness the shade canopy is water proof because Ansley was cozy and dry when we got back.

A few hours later, with a full belly, she was a very happy baby. I took this with my phone and sent it to daddy at work :o)

I just got this picture mail on my phone...

Noah's Halloween costume. What a cute little boy!

Sunday Bath

Ansley is beginning to tolerate bath time more and more. She isn't quite to the stage of actually enjoying it, but at least has graduated from crying the whole time :o)

Gator Onesie

I had a hard time finding gator onesies in a 0-3 month size so I made one myself. Here she is all dressed to watch the UF - Tennessee game today. One thing I forgot to mention in my post yesterday is that Ansley has recently begun waking up extremely happy for the middle of the night feeding. Last night I got her out and while she was on her changing table she started squealing and cooing. Then after she finished eating she spent a good 5-10min staring up at me and smiling. I think the key is getting her out of the crib while she is squirmy but sleepy instead of crying and awake.

9 Weeks Old

Ansley was a much happier girl today. On the way to mommy brunch/play group this morning she was smiling and "talking" to the animals hanging on her car seat. I kept saying that they wanted to be her friends too. She is becoming more alert and aware of what is happening around her every week. It's a lot of fun to see what new thing see will notice each day.

2 Months Old

I cannot believe it's been two months already. Ansley went to the doctor today for her first shots. It was so hard to watch them prick her tiny legs. She cried and cried. You can see her band aids in the pictures. I should have taken my pics of how big she is now before going, because she wasn't in a very good mood for the rest of the evening...poor little girl :o( She weighed exactly 10lbs (which is in the 50th %ile) and is 23.5in long (90th %ile). It looks like she may be tall like her daddy. Those blue eyes are still holding strong, so they may have that in common too. She's such a sweet little girl. I'm looking forward to her waking up in the morning in her normal happy mood. During the past few weeks she's begun doing a little frown right before she gets upset. It's almost as cute as her smile. I have yet to capture it on camera. I hope that either #1 It stops being as cute as it is or #2 she never realizes that it's cute, otherwise we are in trouble when she gets a little older and starts to pout about not getting what she wants. Two more things that I'm happy about are her hair has finally started coming in all around and she seems to be exiting the baby acne phase. She still isn't what I would consider "sleeping through the night", but her 7-8 hour nights are getting more and more frequent.

Yesterday, we took the three babies to play group all snuggled in the backseat again. I just can get over how cute it is to see them all back there together.

Super pooper

Today Jon almost went without lunch. I put Ansley in her car seat while finishing getting dressed to leave. She was on the bed so I could see her and by the red face and grunts I could tell she was probably going #2. She didn't go at all yesterday so I was expecting something impressive. I thought to myself, I'll just have to change her before we leave...no big deal. I was wrong. The moment I looked down to take her out I could see that she had pooped out of the diaper and all over the car seat! I was kind of in shock. It was so bad (from tummy to toes) I had to give her a bath. Luckily it was only on the newborn insert of the car seat so I was able to take it out and wash it in the sink. At this point I probably would have just stayed home, but I'd also made plans to meet one of my former students at work to help with their financial aid. I dried the insert as best I could, put a towel over it and buckled Ansley's freshly cleaned hiney in. She was all smiles from that point on.

Allie & Ansley

Check out the new gadget next to the post. I saw it on another mom's blog and thought it was super cute. You can make one of your own at LilyPie. They have designs for kids, wedding countdowns, pets, pregnancy, etc and it's free. Ansley finished her medicine for the rash and the doctor says she looks fine although she has some normal sensitive baby skin irritation. This big girl weighed 9lbs 14oz.

A little birdie told me that some of you would like to see more pictures of Allie with Ansley. This one isn't very good quality but I love Ansley's face as she's looking at the dog.

These are from tonight. Best friends :o)

Albert & Alberta

Ansley visited with her gator friends after the game Saturday night. Nanna and Grandpa came to babysit while Jon and I went to watch the gators play. Unfortunately we picked a very rainy day to buy tickets, but still had fun.
